The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is now calling for entries for its much-anticipated national photography contest.  In its fourth year, PAGCOR adopts the theme “Throwback” for its 4th National Photography Competition to depict positive images that are reminiscent of the Filipinos’ traditional way of life, cultural practices, native dishes, traits, celebrations, among others. 

Submission of entries is from March 10 to June 15, 2016.

There will be 12 grand winners of Php 75,000 each for Conventional Category

and 12 grand winners of Php 30,000 each for Mobile Category.

Science without Borders® Challenge

Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation’s Science without Borders® Challenge is an international art competition that engages students to promote the need to preserve, protect, and restore the world’s oceans and aquatic resources.

The Science without Borders® Challenge was created to get students and teachers interested in ocean conservation through various forms of art. This annual contest inspires students to be creative while learning about important ocean conservation issues. The SWB Challenge is open to primary and secondary school students 11-19 years old, with scholarships of up to $500 awarded to the winning entries.

The deadline for entry into this year’s Science without Borders® Challenge is Monday, April 25, 2016.

The theme for the 2016 Science without Borders® Challenge is “Fishing Under the Radar.”This theme was chosen to coincide with a new film the Foundation is producing about fishing.

The Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation is excited to announce the opening of their 2016 call for documentary photography and film grant entries. Created to encourage the betterment of humanity through editorially-based imagery of themes including human unrest, famine, disease, politics, war, uprisings, injustice and triumph, they invite photographers and film makers to submit their applications and works through March 31, 2016. Two $5000 awards will be announced in July 2016 during Les Rencontres d’Arles in France.

James Dyson Award for Design Engineering Students

The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. The Award is open to current and recent design engineering students. It’s run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charitable trust, as part of its mission to get young people excited about design engineering.

Entrants must be, or have been within the last four years, enrolled for at least one semester in an undergraduate or graduate engineering or design program at a university in a country chosen to participate in the James Dyson Award. In the case of team entries, at least one team member must meet the above criteria and register as the team leader. All other members of the team must be, or have been within the last four years, enrolled for at least one semester in an undergraduate or graduate program at a university in a country chosen to participate in the James Dyson Award.

All entrants are required to provide documentation of their student or alumni status. Acceptable documentation includes: transcript, dated schedule of classes, grade report, signed and dated letter from a professor or dean, or a degree certificate. You will be required to provide this documentation during the registration process and can upload a PDF, JPEG or MS Word document.

Here is a call-out for all Bachelor and Master’s Degree students of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and planning, from degree-granting educational institutions worldwide. Join the The Schindler Global Award (SGA) ideas competition!

This competition showcases your skills to the test and participate in the making of livable and sustainable urban environments – with mobility in mind. Mobility systems move people, goods and ideas over road and rail, sea and air, and through neighborhoods, regions and the world.

2. SUBMISSIONS

Ownership and content
The Artist retains ownership of all ideas and materials/images upload to the website.
The Artist can only enter work that is original and that you have the right or authority to enter and publish.
Absolutely no “Professional” work can be submitted that was completed at a studio or as part of freelance paid work. Only student work will be accepted.
All entries must be in English.

Number of entries and format
The Artist can enter a maximum of two (2) “Rookie of the Year” sub-categories.
The Artist can enter one (1) “Film of the Year” or “Game of the Year” sub-categories.
The Artist can only enter through this website. We will not accept any entries by mail.

Deadline and rights
Late entries will not be accepted.
THE ROOKIES reserves the right to remove any entry from the competition for any reason and without notice.
